Q: What if I cannot find a community based

A: If your child is declined by a community based
service or program, please send us the contact name, address, telephone number
and email (if possible) of the program, along with the reason given for denying
your child admittance to the program. We will contact the program on behalf of
your child and ask for reconsideration. A little education about
responsibilities of community organizations goes a long way. We would like to
share information about inclusion with any organization that excludes children
with disabilities. Certain programs are required by law to include all
children. If you believe your child was discriminated against in a community
program or service on the basis of disability, you should contact Tennessee Disability Law and Advocacy Center.
